Gabriella Meza and Steven Beaumont met when the two of them were in Cancun. Steven was there for his high school senior trip, and Gabrielle was there to visit her Uncle who owned one of the bars. The two of them hit it off and after Steven went back to school, they continued to keep in contact all throughout college. They started dating when Gabrielle moved from Santa Fe to Los Angeles to pursue her teaching career. Steven was in the middle of working at a local restaurant cooking as a sous chef. They were married eight months into their relationship and three months into Gabriella’s pregnancy.

Micah was born on September 19th at six in the morning after a two and a half day ordeal and was the light and joy of his parents. Growing up, Marc had the normal childhood. He played sports, went to school had Fourth of July block parties and various other events. Their family grew when he was five, his parents having another son, a little brother named Jacoby. As he got older things didn't change much for him, overly joyful and nice, he never had a problem making friends, always the first to open his mouth up when he had a chance to meet someone new. His family met the nuclear family stereotype, although they were missing a dog due to Steven’s allergy to them. But they had some turtles and that was enough for Micah.

Things started to change when he was seven or eight years old, his parents were fighting more and more than they had been before. Accusations were thrown around, dinners were tense and Micah began to worry more and more. At the same time, he did his best to keep Jacoby out of the way, incredibly over protective of his little brother and wanting nothing but the best for him. Everything came to a head when he was eleven and his parents told him and his brother they were getting a divorce.

For Micah, it was an end of an era. He had all the memories of the happy relationship between his parents and now it was over. He became sullen, withdrawn, refused to play sports like he once had and overall, became someone most people didn’t want to be around. His parents both stayed in Los Angeles, so the kids didn’t have to move too much. They alternated months between their parents houses, they had two of everything and their rooms were almost identical between house to house. Aside from the different parent, it was like nothing had changed, and for Micah, this was a big deal.

He wanted something to change, someone to change something because this had been a big change in his life and the way it felt static never felt right to him. His mood never improved at home, although Jacoby grew used to it and was happier. Micah never became used to it, when he is at home he is often sullen and ignores both of his parents, always thinking it’s their fault for all of this. This is a change from when he is around everyone else. Around everyone else he is a different person, he is outgoing, loving, vivacious, everything he isn’t at home.

The day Micah graduated high school and turned eighteen he moved out, moving to New York to get away from his parents, from school and from everything else he had grown up with. It was the best decision he could have made, having an intense dislike of his family. Going into school, it was rough the first year he was there, rushing and doing his best at school. He wanted to graduated as soon as he could, get out and into the real world. Moving to New York for college is, and remains to be the best decision he ever made. Even though he misses his brother a lot, he wouldn't have it any other way.
